Our Horses: Hickory

Adopted in 1998, Hickory is from the Sulphur Herd, which roam 45 miles west of Milford, Utah.

Hickory is our "Spirit". He is a stunning Dun with dorsal line and tiger-striped legs. Hickory’s arched neck, Spanish-barb body, and wild flowing mane symbolize the American Wild Horse. Everyone’s poster boy, he steps forth from the herd and greets visitors. Hickory is not camera-shy and is etched in many people’s minds and lives on their film.

Hickory is brave and friendly, but maintains his boundaries. His mustang intelligence and awareness is always present. He gives respect and expects respect from the human. Dignity characterizes his presence and is a true representative of these American legends.

Hickory’s dream is to be a Wild Horse emissary. He loves to interact with people in trainings. Some day he may proudly carry a rider over the ranch to oversee the herd. His high step and demeanor will always mirror his mustang heritage.

At M.E.E.T. seminars Hickory has the gals fighting over him. He is a clear mirror and a wonderful teacher, particular and kind. He has only been ridden a few times and we hope funding will allow more training to be possible.
