Our Horses: Jasper

Adopted in May of 2002, Jasper is from the Goshute herd in northern Utah.

Jasper looks like he fell in a paint-can of mischief. This little Goshute pony is a love-bug. His outside appearance matches his inside. You just want to love on him and he really soaks it in. He is quick to learn and thinks being with that human on the end of the lead line is great fun. He is curious and interested in everything and loves hanging out with the other “gems”. One look and you want to take him home with you.

Jasper is always quick to jump into the horse trailer and head on adventures. He wants to have a job and be with people.

2009 Update:

Jasper is darling under saddle.  He is just adorable with his saddle on, going over jumps.  He has girls at Brighton Meadows swooning over him.  He has been ridden with a halter and, like Jade, will move to a bridle this winter.  His playful and spunky personality has not been dampened by his more grown-up role wearing a saddle.  He is fun to work with and will be a great addition to our schooling group.

2010 Update:

Jasper continued with his riding education, but primarily he partnered with our youth-at-risk programs.  It was amazing that he was able to choose the human partners he did that he could mirror the most. It was fun to listen to his partners talk about him, and amazing to see how much they realized that what they said applied to themselves as well.
