Our Horses: Pinon

Pinon is a Smoky Grullo from the Sulphur Herd. He is a 3 year old gelding and is Chaparral's son. He was a foal, adoped with his mother, Juniper and Sequoia. Pinon loves playing bachelor boy games with Aspen and anyone else who wants to join in a little nip-knees or nip-face. He is well known as Aspen's mud wrestling partner.
The older horses are teaching him boundaries and respect, and he gets along amazingly well with them. He has a very low-key demeanor and they don't mind him eating with them, or standing by them. He is very aware of when he gets "the ears", and social cues don't have to go much farther.
He loves babies and was very gentle and nurturing to Aspen as a foal. Since the arrival of Magic, Moki the cow's baby bull, he watches his every move and touches noses with him or gently strokes him through the fence.
All of the girls in the advanced riding class want to be the one to work with him on the ground and to be the first to ride him. He already has quite a following!
