Origin of our name, Windhorse Relations:
Our name is a blend of Eastern and Western ideas.
Windhorse is the name of a Tibetan Prayer Flag.
"Wind is the natural element of the horse. As it gallops across the plains the wind arises to meet it, its long tail and mane flowing freely as it speeds through the stillness of the air, creating wind. Both the wind and the horse are natural vehicles of movement, the horse carrying material form and the wind ethereal form. Prayers are carried on the wind, and in Tibet the prayer flag is called Windhorse." - from the Encyclopedia of Tibetan symbols and motifs by Robert Beer
Prayer flags are gentle reminders, bringing us back to our essence, our soul, and helping us to open our hearts and minds. When we hang prayer flags, we create the intention for more kindness for ourselves and for all beings.
Relations is from a Lakota Nation term, " Mitkuye Oyasin" which means " For All My Relations". This beautiful saying is about respect.
~ it brings to our minds and actions that which is known in our hearts ~ we begin respecting ourselves, our needs, our emotions, thoughts and ideas as well as those of others ~ showing respect means honoring our individuality as well as our unity with all beings ~ it is through respect, we live in mutual harmony.
Windhorse Relations™ acknowledges the basic goodness in all humans and our connection to the oneness of life. Our programs hold reverence for the divine nature of the horse and accept the wild horse as our teachers of self-awareness, unconditional love, tolerance, acceptance, surrender and patience.
The horse has always been America’s partner in its growth and greatness. Now a new relationship with these insightful and loving horses can heal troubled souls and guide us into the new paradigm of powerful, peaceful partnerships with ourselves and others.
